9 AI tools that answer comments and DMs in your voice (2026)
Nine AI tools that answer comments and DMs in your own voice in 2026, with real prices, the platforms each one covers, and who it fits best.
By Tools Ledger staff8 min read
BetterSocials is the best pick in 2026 for a small business or creator who gets comments and DMs on several platforms and wants every reply written in their own voice, at $29 a month for four accounts. Manychat is the better fit for flow-built Instagram funnels. CommentShark fits a channel that lives on YouTube.
What makes a reply sound like you?
BetterSocials writes replies from the replies you've already sent, plus rules you write yourself, and CommentShark trains its AI on your past replies too. That's the difference you hear. A template sends the same line to everyone, so the tenth "Thanks so much" reads like a bot.
A voice-trained tool reads how you answer people: your length, your slang, your emoji habit. Rules add the facts, such as your prices, your hours and your booking link. The AI writes from both, and you decide what goes out.
This ledger takes the price angle. For each tool we give the plan where AI replies or the inbox starts, the billing period, and the month we saw the price, so you can line them up at the same account count.
How we picked these nine tools
BetterSocials, Manychat and seven other tools made the list on five tests. We checked whether the AI learns your voice or sends templates, and whether it answers DMs as well as comments. We noted the platforms each tool covers and whether you can approve a reply before it goes out. Then we priced each one at the same number of accounts.
We kept tools with a published price. Each entry names the plan where the reply features start. Where a tool bills per contact or per seat, we work out the bill.
BetterSocials: best for owners and creators on several platforms
BetterSocials puts Instagram, Facebook and TikTok comments and DMs, plus YouTube, Threads and LinkedIn Company Page comments, in one inbox. It drafts each reply in your voice from a profile built on your past replies and from AI rules you write, such as "never quote prices, send people to the booking link".
AI replies have two sections, Comments and DMs, and each one has three settings. Off means you write replies yourself. Draft for me writes a draft the moment a comment or DM arrives, and nothing posts until you approve it. Reply in my voice answers everyday comments 1 to 5 minutes after they land, and a DM gets an answer about a minute after it arrives.
Questions wait in Needs reply unless you turn on Answer questions too, and that switch only works once you've written at least one AI rule. When your rules don't cover what someone asked, the AI doesn't guess. The message waits for you. After five AI replies in one conversation in a day, the rest wait for you as well.
Keyword comment-to-DM is included. A keyword in an Instagram or Facebook comment sends the person a DM with your link. On TikTok, YouTube, Threads and LinkedIn Company Pages, the keyword posts a public reply with the link instead.
Creator is $29 a month, or $24 billed yearly, for four accounts, one login and 1,000 AI credits a month. Pro is $49 a month, or $39 billed yearly, for six accounts. Team is $99 a month, or $79 billed yearly, for twelve accounts and unlimited teammates. Contacts are unlimited on every plan, and each plan starts with a 7-day free trial with a card.
Manychat: best for Instagram funnels built from flows
Manychat is the pick if you want multi-step flows, or channels like WhatsApp and SMS. It works on Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp and TikTok, and it has no YouTube support. Its AI Comments feature, covered on the Manychat AI Comments help page, is Instagram only and in beta.
Manychat bills by active contacts. Pro is $39 a month with 2,500 active contacts, billed monthly, as of October 2026. Each extra contact costs $0.05 on Pro, so every thousand contacts past 2,500 adds fifty dollars to the month.
That meter is the trade. A quiet month is cheap, and a post that takes off raises the bill. BetterSocials charges the same flat price whatever the contact count.
CommentShark: best for YouTube-only channels
CommentShark answers YouTube comments only, with AI replies trained on your past replies and an approval queue. If YouTube is the whole business, that focus is the reason to pick it.
The free plan gives 20 actions a month with template replies, as of September 2026. AI replies start on Starter at $19 a month. Creator is $49 and Pro is $139.
BetterSocials also reads YouTube comments and drafts replies in your voice. What it adds is the rest of the inbox: Instagram, Facebook and TikTok DMs, and comments from the other platforms.
InstantDM: best for a cheap Instagram AI agent
InstantDM runs AI agents powered by ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini on Instagram and Facebook. Those agents aren't trained on the owner's voice, so replies sound like the model you pick.
The free plan covers 500 credits a month, and paid plans are $9.99 and $24.99, as of September 2026. There's a 7-day trial with no card. For a tight budget on Instagram and Facebook alone, InstantDM is the cheaper entry.
ReplyRush: best for a free start on common DMs
ReplyRush sends AI auto replies to common DMs, with templates at its core. It covers Instagram and Facebook.
The free plan covers 1,500 DMs a month, as of September 2026. Lite is $10 a month, Boost $25 and Max $100. If you want to try DM automation before paying anything, ReplyRush is a fair place to start.
Meta Business Suite: best for free keyword replies on Instagram and Facebook
Meta Business Suite includes a free automation that sends "a message reply to comments on your posts that contain specific keywords or phrases" on Facebook and Instagram, per Meta's help pages as of July 2026. The message is a fixed template you write, with no AI drafting.
Setup is on desktop. Each keyword automation takes up to five case-sensitive keywords and can wait 15 minutes before sending unless you reply first. YouTube, LinkedIn, Threads and email aren't covered.
Instagram is also rolling out AI Auto Replies, which answer from a knowledge base you build. It's mobile-app only and "being gradually introduced," and Meta warns that "messages generated by AI may not be accurate or appropriate."
Buffer: best for answering comments only, on a small budget
Buffer's Community inbox covers comments on all plans, YouTube comments included. If comments are all you answer, Buffer is the cheaper choice.
Six channels on Buffer Essentials cost $30 a month on annual billing, as of October 2026. BetterSocials Pro covers six accounts for $39 a month billed yearly, so Buffer is cheaper. The difference buys the DM side of the inbox, AI replies in your voice and keyword comment-to-DM.
Hootsuite: best for teams that need seats and approvals
Hootsuite includes its inbox from the Standard plan at $99 per user a month, billed annually, as of October 2026. Its inbox doesn't include YouTube comments.
Hootsuite makes sense when several people share the work and you need a seat for each of them. For one person answering their own comments and DMs, per-user pricing is the expensive way in.
Sprout Social: best for larger teams with a reporting budget
Sprout Social puts its inbox on the Standard plan at $199 per seat a month, billed annually, as of October 2026. Three seats come to just under six hundred dollars a month.
Sprout Social fits a brand with a team answering messages and a budget to match. For a small team, BetterSocials Team covers twelve accounts and unlimited teammates for $99 a month, or $79 billed yearly.
How do these AI reply tools compare on price and platforms?
BetterSocials leads the table below because it covers comments and DMs on six social platforms at a flat price. The prices are the entry plan for replies, as we saw them in September and October 2026.
| Tool | Best for | Entry price | Covers |
|---|---|---|---|
| BetterSocials | Several platforms, one owner | $29 a month, 4 accounts | Six platforms, comments and DMs |
| Manychat | Flow-built funnels | $39 a month, 2,500 contacts | Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp, TikTok |
| CommentShark | YouTube-only channels | $19 a month on Starter | YouTube comments |
| InstantDM | Cheap AI agent | $9.99 a month | Instagram and Facebook |
| ReplyRush | Free start on DMs | Free, then $10 a month | Instagram and Facebook |
| Meta Business Suite | Free keyword replies | Free | Instagram and Facebook |
| Buffer | Comments only | $30 a month, 6 channels | Comments, YouTube included |
| Hootsuite | Teams with approvals | $99 per user a month | Team inbox, no YouTube comments |
| Sprout Social | Larger teams | $199 per seat a month | Team inbox |
At six accounts, Buffer costs $30 a month on annual billing and BetterSocials Pro costs $39 a month billed yearly. Manychat doesn't price by account, so its bill follows your contacts: $39 a month up to 2,500, plus $0.05 for each contact after that.
FAQ
What is the best AI tool to reply to comments and DMs in my own voice?
BetterSocials is the best fit if your comments and DMs come from several platforms. It drafts every reply from your past replies and your AI rules, and plans start at $29 a month for four accounts. Manychat suits flow-built Instagram funnels, and CommentShark suits channels that live on YouTube.
Is there an AI that replies to my Instagram comments in my own voice?
Yes. BetterSocials builds a voice profile from replies you've written and drafts each Instagram comment reply to match. You approve each one with Draft for me, or turn on Reply in my voice and everyday comments get answered 1 to 5 minutes after they land.
How do I answer hundreds of comments a day without sounding like a bot?
Use a tool like BetterSocials that drafts from your own past replies, then approve in batches with Approve in bulk. Write your prices and booking link as AI rules, so answers come from your facts. Anything the rules don't cover waits for you in Needs reply.
Can AI answer my DMs, or only comments?
BetterSocials answers both, with separate settings for comments and DMs. It answers Instagram, Facebook and TikTok DMs, and a DM gets an answer about a minute after it arrives. After five AI replies in one conversation in a day, the rest wait for you.
Can an AI tool send a DM when someone comments on TikTok or YouTube?
No tool can turn a TikTok or YouTube comment into a private DM. YouTube has no DM API, and TikTok only lets a business reply to DMs someone else starts. On those platforms, BetterSocials posts a public reply with your link when a comment matches your keyword.
Is Meta's free comment automation enough?
Meta Business Suite is enough for basic keyword replies on Instagram and Facebook. It sends a fixed template you write, takes up to five case-sensitive keywords per automation, and can wait 15 minutes before sending. It doesn't draft replies in your voice or cover YouTube, Threads or LinkedIn.
