9 comment and DM tools priced at four accounts (2026)

Nine comment and DM tools priced at four accounts for 2026. BetterSocials is our pick, at $29 a month, or $24 billed yearly, for four accounts.

By Tools Ledger staff9 min read

If your comments and DMs bring in customers, BetterSocials is our pick. It puts comments from six platforms and Instagram, Facebook and TikTok DMs in one inbox with AI replies in your voice, for $29 a month, or $24 billed yearly, for four accounts. Buffer is cheaper if you mostly schedule and answer comments by hand. Metricool is where to start for free, and ManyChat fits multi-step DM funnels and WhatsApp.

The price of answering comments and DMs on one bill

BetterSocials, Buffer and seven other tools sell a version of the same job. They put the comments and DMs from your accounts in one place, so you answer before the buyer scrolls away. We took the price view for this entry, because a dated price is what Tools Ledger records.

A unified inbox is one screen that holds comments and direct messages from every connected account. The tools differ on whether DMs reach that inbox or only comments, whether AI drafts the replies, and whether a keyword comment sends a link by DM. The bill differs more, because vendors charge per plan, per channel, per brand, per user or per contact.

Grouped by price at four accounts, the nine fall into four bands:

  • Free to start: Metricool.
  • Under $50 a month: Buffer, BetterSocials, SocialBee and ManyChat while you stay under 2,500 contacts.
  • Fifty to a hundred dollars a month for one user: Later Growth, Agorapulse and Hootsuite.
  • Above a hundred dollars a month: Sprout Social.

How we priced the nine tools

We priced BetterSocials and eight rivals at one count, four social accounts, which is the size of BetterSocials's entry plan. Each price is the one listed for that plan, with the month it was seen. Where a vendor lists a monthly and a yearly figure, both appear here.

Each tool was checked on four points. Which platforms reach the inbox. Whether DMs come in or comments only. Whether AI drafts replies. Whether a keyword comment can send a DM with a link.

BetterSocials: best for DMs that turn into bookings, from $29 for four accounts

BetterSocials puts comments from Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, Threads and LinkedIn Company Pages in one inbox, next to Instagram, Facebook and TikTok DMs. It builds a voice profile from your past replies and drafts each comment and DM reply in that voice. You write AI rules in plain sentences, such as your prices, hours and booking link, and the drafts answer from them.

Comments and DMs each have three settings: Off, Draft for me and Reply in my voice. On Draft for me, nothing posts until you approve it. On Reply in my voice, everyday replies send on their own, and anything your AI rules don't cover waits for you in Needs reply.

Keyword comment-to-DM needs no flow builder. A keyword in an Instagram or Facebook comment sends the person a DM with your link. On TikTok, YouTube, Threads and LinkedIn Company Pages, the keyword posts a public reply with the link instead.

The three plans, each with a monthly and a yearly price:

  • Creator is $29 a month, or $24 billed yearly, for four accounts, one login and 1,000 AI credits a month.
  • Pro is $49 a month, or $39 billed yearly, for six accounts, one login and 2,000 AI credits a month.
  • Team is $99 a month, or $79 billed yearly, for twelve accounts, unlimited teammates and 4,000 shared AI credits a month.

Each AI reply or draft uses 1 AI credit. Every plan has unlimited contacts and a 7-day free trial, with a card required. BetterSocials doesn't offer WhatsApp, email, X, Telegram or SMS. TikTok DMs are reply-only, for 48 hours after someone writes to you, and a TikTok comment can't trigger a private DM on any tool.

Buffer: best for scheduling under $25 a month, with comments answered by hand

Buffer charges $5 a channel a month on annual billing on Essentials, as of October 2026, so four channels cost $20 a month. Its Community inbox reads comments on every plan, YouTube comments included. The inbox covers comments only, so Instagram and Facebook DMs stay in the phone apps.

At four accounts on yearly billing, Buffer is a few dollars a month cheaper than BetterSocials Creator, at $20 against $24. What the difference buys on BetterSocials is the DM side of the inbox, AI replies in your voice and keyword comment-to-DM. Pick Buffer if posting is the job and the comments are few enough to answer yourself.

Metricool: best for trying a free inbox before you pay

Metricool has an inbox on its free plan, and it reads YouTube comments there too. LinkedIn joins the inbox on Starter. Paid plans are priced per brand.

For keyword comment-to-DM, BetterSocials sends your link by DM from an Instagram or Facebook comment, with no flow builder. Start with Metricool if you want to see whether one inbox changes how fast you answer, before you pay for anything.

Later: best for Instagram-first brands that plan the grid visually

Later's Conversations inbox covers Instagram and Facebook DMs and comments, plus TikTok comments, starting on Growth. Growth is $50 a month, or $37.50 billed yearly, as of September 2026. Starter is $25 a month, or $18.75 billed yearly, and Conversations isn't on it.

Later has no YouTube or LinkedIn conversations. Pick it if your customers find you on Instagram and you plan posts by how the grid will look.

SocialBee: best for solo marketers who recycle evergreen posts

SocialBee Bootstrap is $29 a month, or about $24 billed yearly, for five social profiles and one user, as of October 2026. Content categories and recycling keep a posting queue full, and AI content generation is unlimited on every plan.

SocialBee's pricing page lists Facebook Pages and Instagram Business comments, mentions and DMs. It also lists comments on Threads, LinkedIn Company Pages, YouTube and X profiles. On yearly billing, Bootstrap lands within 20 cents of BetterSocials Creator and gives you a fifth profile. Pick it when keeping the queue full is the hard part of your week.

Agorapulse: best for a small team that shares one inbox

Agorapulse puts one combined inbox on every tier, with assigned comments and messages, reply collision detection, saved replies and AI reply suggestions. It costs $79 per user a month on annual billing, as of July 2026.

Each added user adds to the bill. Two people pay twice the $79, and three pay three times it. BetterSocials Team is $99 a month, or $79 billed yearly, for twelve accounts and unlimited teammates. Pick Agorapulse when your team needs to assign replies and keep two people from answering the same comment.

Hootsuite: best for larger teams that want one vendor

Hootsuite includes its inbox from Standard, at $99 per user a month billed annually, as of October 2026. Its inbox doesn't include YouTube comments, so YouTube stays publishing and analytics there.

Two users cost twice the $99, close to two hundred dollars a month. Pick Hootsuite when one vendor for publishing, inbox and reports matters more to you than the per-user bill.

Sprout Social: best for companies with a social team and a reporting budget

Sprout Social puts its consolidated inbox on Standard, at $199 per seat a month billed annually, as of October 2026. That's the highest entry price on this list, and each added seat adds another $199. One person running four accounts pays $199 a month here, against $29 a month on BetterSocials Creator.

ManyChat: best for multi-step DM funnels and WhatsApp

ManyChat is the flow-builder pick for Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp and TikTok. A flow builder is a canvas where you draw each step of an automated conversation. Pro is $39 a month with 2,500 active contacts, then $0.05 per extra contact, billed monthly, as of October 2026.

The bill moves with your audience. A Pro account that reaches 4,000 active contacts in a month pays the $39 base plus $0.05 for every contact past 2,500, which comes to more than a hundred dollars. BetterSocials Creator stays $29 a month for four accounts at any audience size.

ManyChat has no YouTube and leaves posting to another tool, so you'd pair it with a scheduler. For the contact math, see comment-to-DM tools in 2026, sorted by price band as your contacts grow.

Four-account prices side by side

BetterSocials, SocialBee and Buffer sit within a few dollars of each other at four accounts on yearly billing. The gap is in what reaches the inbox. Prices below are as of October 2026, except Later (September 2026) and Agorapulse (July 2026).
