By Tools Ledger staff7 min read

If you're leaving Blotato because comments and DMs now need answers, BetterSocials is our pick. It posts to six platforms and answers comments and DMs in your voice from one inbox, from $29 a month for four accounts, as of October 2026. Agorapulse fits a team that shares one inbox, and Buffer fits you if cheap scheduling is the whole job.

What Blotato costs, and how we sorted the rest

Blotato lists Starter at $29 a month, Creator at $97 and Agency at $499, all on monthly billing, as of October 2026. Its pricing page says annual billing saves about 17% but shows no annual prices.

Blotato's strength is posting from an AI agent. It publishes to nine networks: X, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Bluesky, Threads and YouTube. Its MCP server, a connector that lets an assistant such as Claude run the tool, has 32 tools, including ones that list comments, reply to them and send DMs.

API and MCP access aren't in Blotato's free trial, and generating an API key during the trial ends it and starts billing. Stay on Blotato if X, Pinterest or Bluesky matter to you and your comments and DMs are light.

We sorted the six alternatives by the job you'd be paying for: replies and posting in one tool, replies for a team, or scheduling alone. Each price below is the one we saw, with the month we saw it.

BetterSocials, for posting and replies in one tool

BetterSocials is best for turning comments and DMs into customers from one inbox, with replies in your own voice. It posts to Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Threads, TikTok and LinkedIn, then brings their comments, plus Instagram, Facebook and TikTok DMs, into one inbox.

The AI drafts each reply from your past replies and from AI rules you write, plain sentences such as your prices, hours and booking link. Comments and DMs each get three settings: Off, Draft for me and Reply in my voice.

Draft for me writes a draft for every new comment or DM and waits for your approval. Reply in my voice answers everyday comments 1 to 5 minutes after they land, and DMs about a minute after they arrive. Questions wait in Needs reply unless you switch on Answer questions too, which needs at least one AI rule.

Comment-to-DM is the other half. It means a keyword in a comment sends that person a DM with your link, with no flow builder. That DM goes out on Instagram and Facebook, while on TikTok, YouTube, Threads and LinkedIn Company Pages the keyword posts a public reply with the link.

Like Blotato, BetterSocials runs a hosted MCP server. Claude can read the inbox, send replies and schedule posts through it, and ChatGPT in a normal chat can read the inbox and draft.

As of October 2026, Creator is $29 a month, or $24 billed yearly, for four accounts and one login. Pro is $49 a month, or $39 billed yearly, for six accounts. Team is $99 a month, or $79 billed yearly, for twelve accounts and unlimited teammates.

Every plan has a 7-day free trial with a card, unlimited contacts and nothing billed per contact. BetterSocials doesn't post to X, Pinterest or Bluesky, and it has no email inbox.

Metricool, for analytics with replies on the side

Metricool is best for owners who want analytics first, with an inbox that starts on the free plan. It costs $20 a month, priced per brand, as of October 2026.

Metricool pairs scheduling with an inbox from the free plan, and that inbox reads YouTube comments. LinkedIn joins the inbox on Starter.

Pick Metricool when reporting is the main job and the inbox is a bonus. If you want a keyword comment to send a DM with your link, BetterSocials does that on Instagram and Facebook.

Buffer, for scheduling priced by the channel

Buffer is best for plain scheduling at the lowest price per channel, $5 a channel a month on annual billing, as of August 2026. That's cheaper than BetterSocials at matching account counts.

Four channels on Buffer run $20 a month and six run $30, both billed yearly. BetterSocials Creator is $24 a month billed yearly for four accounts, and Pro is $39 a month billed yearly for six.

Buffer's Community inbox covers comments on every plan, YouTube included, while Instagram and Facebook DMs stay in the phone app. The extra money on BetterSocials buys the DM side of the inbox, AI replies and keyword comment-to-DM.

Agorapulse, for replies shared across a team

Agorapulse is best for a marketing team that shares one inbox and assigns replies. It costs $79 per user a month on annual billing, as of July 2026, so a team of three pays for three seats.

Agorapulse's pricing page lists one combined inbox with comment moderation, assignment of comments and messages, reply collision detection, saved replies and AI reply suggestions. Email isn't in its channel list.

For comparison, BetterSocials Team is $99 a month, or $79 billed yearly, for twelve accounts and unlimited teammates. We sort team costs in social media tools with unlimited users in 2026, sorted by what a whole team pays.

Vista Social, for agency replies with DM automations

Vista Social is best for agencies that want a social inbox and DM automations inside a scheduler. Professional is $99 a month, or $80 billed yearly, with two users, as of October 2026.

Vista Social puts the inbox and DM automations on Professional, and you can try it for 14 days without a card. It has no email channel.

On monthly billing, Vista Social Professional and BetterSocials Team both cost $99. Vista Social includes two users, and BetterSocials Team includes unlimited teammates across twelve accounts.

Postiz, for scheduling on software you host

Postiz is best for developers who want open-source posting they can host themselves. Standard is $29 a month, Team $39, Pro $49 and Ultimate $99, on monthly billing, as of September 2026.

Postiz plans run from 5 to 100 channels, with a 7-day trial. It has no inbox. Its post comments feature schedules your own first comment under your own post.

Postiz Standard costs the same $29 a month as Blotato Starter. Pick it when posting is the whole job and you'd rather run the software yourself.

Blotato and six alternatives by job and entry price

The table lists each tool's entry price as we saw it in the months named above, with Blotato first.

ToolMain jobEntry priceReplies covered
BlotatoAgent-driven posting to nine networks$29 a month, monthlyComments and DMs through MCP tools
BetterSocialsPosting plus replies in your voice$29 a month, 4 accountsComments and DMs, AI drafted
MetricoolAnalytics with an inbox$20 a month per brandInbox from the free plan
BufferLow-cost scheduling$5 a channel, yearlyComments only
AgorapulseOne inbox for a team$79 per user, yearlyComments and messages, assignable
Vista SocialAgency inbox and DM automations$99 a month, or $80 yearlyInbox and DM automations
PostizSelf-hosted posting$29 a month, monthlyNo inbox

At four accounts, BetterSocials Creator is $24 a month billed yearly, and Buffer is 4 x $5 = $20. At six, BetterSocials Pro is $39 a month billed yearly, and Buffer is 6 x $5 = $30.

So Buffer is a few dollars a month cheaper at four accounts and under ten dollars cheaper at six. The difference buys the DM inbox, AI replies in your voice and keyword comment-to-DM.

On monthly billing, BetterSocials Creator and Blotato Starter both cost $29. BetterSocials Creator covers four accounts at that price.
